Kia Ora!
That's the official greeting here in New Zealand. It's Sunday morning and before I head to church in beautiful Wanaka I thought I would update the blog. It's absolutely beautiful here and matter of fact reminds me very much of Summit County Colorado--where the movie was shot. I am headed to Queenstown where a lot of filming goes on and also where there are some 5 star restaurants that I am going to check out. The industry is so very different here and with all the talk on Waitersworld about tipping and pooling and minimum wage in most states but not all, I am curious to learn more about what it is here. I will post my findings later.
This weekend and into the week depending on the market, my NPR interview is being replayed. I am excited as last year when it was played, some really neat things happened from it. I am glad that I was able to inspire some people to also follow their hearts and persue their dreams! Not to mention the fact that people heard about the movie and shared it with others who might not understand our world. I think one of the best comments I heard was: "I am going to make my dad watch it because he is so mean to waitresses!" Music to my ears as that was why I made the movie--to show people who we reallly are, and not the crap that Hollywood wants you to believe we are.
Also new is the fact that you can download the movie onto your computer for free or a donation if you like. I just want people to see the movie and get the messages so we decided to do that. It still is available for purchase (and at a discount for a bit) so you can share it with friends not in the business. Well I have to get going but just wanted to say howdy. I will post again after talking to the 5 star people, and until then I will stay on the left side of the road! I love driving here, it's really fun! Have a great day and remember that life really is a gift, even on those days when you are discouraged. Make yourself laugh in the morning and it will be a better day!

I listened gladly when the NPR interview was first aired, and listened just as gladly again today. I simply feel SO PROUD of you! Please forgive my presumption saying that, but you are so exactly what I am proud of, being a Midwesterner and an assimilated (born in IL, lived in Wisconsin altogether around 20 years conceived and raised my daughter here) Cheesehead. With all my heart and will, I wish you every possible happiness and good success.

Hello, I mean Kia Ora! Thanks for putting your film online. It's terrific! It's great to see a movie with a real story, instead of the same old Hollywood stuff. We weren't expecting much because as you say, you're not a filmmaker. But, seeing what you have done, with no experience, is very inspirational. I guess anyone can do anything if they put their heart into it.
We weren't sure how much to donate and then realized, this is worth more than what we've paid at theaters or movie rental places and are happy to donate in kind. Thanks again and best of luck.
